Eating and resuming all normal functions can be done immediately after the affects of local anesthesia have worn off. There may be some sensitivity to hot and cold liquids and foods for a few days. High Fluoride concentration toothpastes can alleviate these symptoms. Minimal discomfort may occur for up to 24 hours after placement, although this is not a frequent occurrence. This also can be alleviated with Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
