Tooth Extraction |

After extraction, mild discomfort and some slight oozing of blood are normal immediately after surgery. Firm biting pressure on gauze for 10 minutes will normally stop any oozing. We ask our patients not to rinse for 24 hours after extraction. Rinsing will cause more bleeding. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or any prescribed analgesics can be used for pain relief. The use of ice for 24 hours after extraction will prevent most swelling from occurring.
